An Intermediate Junior III Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, with a
BA in Psychology from UCLA and an MS in Education from USC, my yoga journey began in 1992 while touring around India on a motorcycle exploring sacred sites, reading ancient texts and talking to spiritual seekers
Serving for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer deepened my desire to bring about meaningful positive change in the world. Returning home in 1994, I took a teaching position with LAUSD and there developed the first yoga program for credit where I taught two daily yoga classes, as well as psychology, health and English to at-risk inner city teens until 2008.
Since 2002 I have been blessed with the opportunity to study for a month or two every other year under the direct guidance of BKS Iyengar and his daughter Geeta. Drawing from the unbroken lineage of yoga from which the Iyengars come, classes feature correct sequencing of poses, appropriate instructions on alignment and intuitive verbal and hands on adjustments.
In 2006 I began teaching at the Iyengar Institute of Los Angeles and since 2008 have been teaching at Yoga Works as well. I strive to infuse each class with enthusiasm, humor, compassion and intelligence leaving students energized, refreshed, motivated and restored.
Conscious Grieving® began in 2007 as a result of my own experiences surviving the death of my life partner.
